Carmen Maria Machado

Carmen Maria Machado is dog mom to Rosie the Beagle mix and author of the DC Comics series The Low, Low Woods, the best-selling memoir In the Dream House, and the short story collection Her Body and Other Parties, for which she was a 2017 National Book Award finalist. Her writing has appeared in the New Yorker, New York Times, Granta, Vogue, and more. She holds an MFA from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop and is currently the Writer in Residence at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where she lives with Rosie and Rosie's other mom, Val.
